effort and time on task --- how much perseverance did you demonstrate?
I believe that I put in a lot of effort everyday in ceramics. I always was either on a wheel throwing/footing. Or I was glazing and helping clean. I enjoy ceramics and I also enjoy completing tasks and feeling accomplished.
teamwork and cooperation in cleaning and helping out in the room?
I think I worked well as a teammate and I cleaned everyday and also helped others by cleaning my own throwing station and by finding lost papers find their homes.
talk about and give some examples of art and design elements and skills you used in your work? (name at least three projects and give art and design elements and skills for each - hint look at your paragraphs)
I used many of my skills this year to experiment with art and design elements. I improved my throwing and glazing skills a lot this quarter so my projects had more shape, for example a vase I threw had a very distinct shape. Another art element I used was movement, by contrasting colors I created movement in my projects, this directs the viewers eye to the shape of the piece. Another art element I used in my projects were texture, a few of my projects I used a mixture of matt glaze and normal glaze, which made its texture very different and feel different than it looked.
what surprised you in class?
It surprised me that I enjoyed throwing with seamix a lot, and I hope to keep throwing with seamix in the future.
