This is a bowl made of porcelin. I glazed this bowl blue to emphasize the light color of porcelin and to show to roundness of the bowl.
This is my wheel altered project. I made this project by throwing it on the wheel, then when I was done I made the top wavy with my hands. I glazed this project red on the outside and white on the inside. The glaze really emphasizes how the project is altered and the top has waves and dips in it. Here is my set of three project! This project consists of a bowl, a cup, and a plate. I threw these pieces with red clay. I glazed these projects green because it emphasizes the clay color by juxtaposition. I also made the size of the projects similar so that they would fit well together and show that they are a set. This is my second plate that I threw on the wheel. I used new methods I learned recently to throw this. The glaze is black and the texture of the glaze is rough which adds to the shape of the plate. This plate is a big improvement from my last plate because I footed it correctly by making the base the correct size while throwing. The glaze of the project emphasizes the flat shape of the project. This is a large cylinder. I used a rib tool in the making of this project. I also used a pin tool to trim the top. I glazed this project a mixture of green and blue to emphasize how big the cylinder is. This is my first plate! I mixed porcelin with red clay! The bottom of the plate is mostly red clay, while the top is porcelin. I glazed this project with clear glaze because I wanted to show how the project had 2 types of clay in it. This emphasizes that the project has a flat shape because it is a plate. This is a pitcher! To make this project I threw a bowl on the wheel, then altered it so it had a lip, to make it into a pitcher. Then the next day I footed it, it was challenging because of the lip. Then I made a handle and attached it. There are many art elements in this project. One is the shape of the handle, it adds to the project by emphasizing the roundness. The glaze also adds to the project because by using a mixture of green and blue on the outside it emphasizes the lip of the project. The inside is only glazed blue which shows how the project is different because it's a pitcher. This is my tall project! When I threw this on the wheel I used a few tools. I used a rib tool to make the sides smooth, so that the shape of the project is more defined. I then used the pin tool to trim the top. I glazed this project forest green so that the roundness and smoothness of the project is emphasized. The tallness of the project is also emphasized because the outside is glazed green, but the inside is glazed white. |
