Theme: My theme is movement by glazes.
-mixed glazes
-pattern through glazes
-dripping glazes
all show movement
II What
-Tall personal frankenproject (multiwheel) that has dripping glazes
-Big bowl that has a mixture of black, white, and blue glazes
-A seamix bowl that has green swirls and green sponged glaze on the outside which is patterned
-A bowl/vase that is black and white glaze that shows the budging shape and movement.
III How
-Projects are thrown on the wheel, then footed, then bisqued
-Then they are glazed. Put a base coat and then decide what to do with the glazes in order to show movement.
-Either add a pattern through glaze, or drip glaze, or mix glazes to show movement.
IV Why
It is important to show movement in projects. This adds to the completed the project. It also is important to emphasize the shape of the project through the glazes, and show how the project is moving towards one direction or the other.
V Conclusion
This is my second semester of ceramics. My first semester I mainly focused on the throwing aspect of ceramics class. This semester I have come to realize the importance of glazing. Glazing is extremely important because it shows the movement of the project.
