This is a large seamix bowl that I threw on the wheel. This project has a shape that goes outward, rather than up. The glaze in the middle of the project demonstrates the movement of the project, how it goes outward.
This is a wheel altered project. I threw this on the wheel and then altered it right after I threw it. This project was also throw during railroad days. I then used colored glazed to create patterns and other marks to demonstrate how the project was shaped and altered. The alterations make the roundness of the project emphasized. Here is an extra credit vase. On the outside I carved into the vase to create texture. When I glazed this project I put colors into the parts where I glazed to make the textures pop. The shape of the project is also emphasized through the glaze of the project Here are my first 2 bowls. The first bowl I glazed white and then dripped in the middle colored glazes to show the round shape. The white runs so I used the running white to show how the project moves toward the center of the bowl. My second bowl I glazed all green. This bowl was not very tall and I could improve by focusing more on shape. These two bowls were my very first projects so I hope to improve my shape and texture in the upcoming weeks. |
