This is my set of three project. 2 mugs and one teapot, all three projects are made of seamix. I then glazed this projects blue and green (seahawks colors). While making this project I learned how to make a spout and I also learned that there are different lids to learn how to make. I also learned more about making and attaching handles.
This is my wheel altered project. I threw it on the wheel and then after I used my fingers to make the edges go in and out like waves, and then I used a footing tool to make edges on the outside of the project. Next I glazed this project green and orange to add contrast and emphasize the different shape of the lip. On the inside of the project I glazed it white and then used green to make it run towards the middle of the project. This emphasizes the bowl shape of the bottom of the project.
These are my two plates, I used seamix to throw them. Then I glazed them with white glaze and blue stain, I wanted the stain to run with the white but it didn't run as much as I thought it would. The stain goes towards the middle of the projects which emphasize the round shape. This demonstrates how glaze can run and not run towards the center of a project.
This is my tall project. To throw this I used three separate pieces and then threw them together. Then I attached a handle to make it into a pitcher. To glaze this piece I put white glaze on and then put different colors to get the glaze to run. I wanted the glaze to run down the side to show how tall the project is, and to emphasize its shape. As the blue runs down and the green stays on the top of the project it shows how round and tall the project is.
